Bethany Bee Apiary, Inc.

Located in Townsend, Massachusetts, we are nestled in the tranquil woods near the Townsend State Forest along the New Hampshire border.  Our bees forage on local wild flowers, trees, farm crops... in short, whatever happens to be growing anywhere within a two-mile radius.

We started beekeeping only a few years ago, but took to it immediately.  We initially only wanted a little honey for ourselves, friends and family.  We started making simple products like lip balm and skin cream to use the wax cappings we collected after extracting honey, and quickly moved on from there when we realized how wonderful beeswax and honey are in skin care products. 

We use no chemicals in our beehives or in our honey processing or product making.  We strongly believe that our  bees already produce the best product possible without our "help" and we try to preserve the purity and natural goodness that results from their hard work by bringing their products to you with a minimum of processing.

Our honey is only minimally filtered through a strainer screen using gravity and time - this is a slower method of filtering than the heating and pumping employed by large commercial producers, but it preserves the complexity that results from the wide variety of forage the bees have in their range.

Our beeswax skin care products are made from the purest capping wax taken during honey extraction.  We add only the necessary ingredients to ensure a quality texture that leaves your skin feeling moisturized.  No harsh chemicals and no artificial colorings are ever used in our products. After all, your skin is an organ, and “breathes” in everything you put on it!
